Designed and fabricated a custom coffee table combining polished Italian Verde marble with salvaged coil springs from a 1970s Chevy Impala.

The concept explored the contrast between refined natural stone and automotive industrial components, pairing the weight, polish, and permanence of marble with the mechanical form and cultural character of classic American car parts. The exposed springs created a sense of visual tension, appearing both compressed and ready to release, which gave the table an underlying energy despite its heavy, grounded materials.

The tabletop was cut and polished from Italian Verde marble, creating a substantial surface that required careful consideration of weight, handling, and installation. To support usability and transport, the design was engineered to disassemble into two primary pieces, allowing the heavy stone top and spring-leg structure to be moved separately.

The final piece balanced craftsmanship, material reuse, and industrial design thinking, transforming automotive components into a refined furniture object with both practical function and collectible character.
