For the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, California, I was tasked with designing a unique display platform that could showcase four different categories of bikes in a crowded outdoor event environment.

Rather than using traditional bike stands, I developed a series of terrain-inspired display platforms that connected each bike to its intended riding environment. Because the event was held in California, I used historic gold mining sluice boxes as the conceptual starting point, translating that reference into a rugged, branded display system with natural materials, raised platforms, and integrated terrain treatments.

The design created a strong visual anchor within the event space while helping visitors quickly understand each bike’s category and use case. Despite a compressed timeline of less than two months and a $5,000 budget, the displays delivered a high-impact presence and became a standout feature for both media and consumers.
