Designed a durable media racetrack fixture to replace the short-term cardboard shippers commonly used for DVDs, games, and entertainment launches in big-box retail.

Traditional cardboard media displays were effective at creating fast promotional awareness, but they were often discarded after only a short selling period. This created issues around durability, store presentation, labor, and waste. The goal was to create a more permanent, flexible fixture that could still support high-impact entertainment merchandising while improving long-term usability.

Nicknamed the “tombstone” because of its arched silhouette, the fixture also marked the end of random temporary cardboard displays in the racetrack aisle. The design used a rotationally molded plastic body mounted on a stainless steel-over-wood base with casters, creating a durable, mobile platform that could withstand frequent retail resets.

Self-facing product pockets kept media titles organized and easy to shop, while the central graphic area provided a clean promotional focal point for featured releases. The result was a reusable racetrack display that improved presentation, reduced reliance on disposable cardboard shippers, and gave stores a more consistent merchandising solution.
